Social commitment makes us take our responsibility towards humans and animals seriously by participating in various initiatives and projects
K-9 search dogs
Under the direction of Alexandra Grunow and Rovena Lankau, the search dog centre trains dogs that can track people by their scent. In addition to training K-9 TrailTrainers, they have been helping out the police and state criminal investigation offices throughout Germany for years on a voluntary basis in the areas of rescue and forensics in real missions to track down missing persons or pets.
“Our dogs track down lost people before they are lost forever” is how Alexandra Grunow describes her work.

Tierärzte ohne Grenzen e.V. (Vets without Borders)
work of Tierärzte ohne Grenzen e.V. [Vets Without Borders] benefits animal health, people and the environment in its six project countries in East Africa. There, the People are characterised by a rich history and often extensive knowledge that has been passed down through generations. The association wants to preserve this valuable heritage and expand it through veterinary and human medical knowledge. Knowledge, experience and life strategies of the people involved in the projects are at the heart of the association’s work – it supports them in leading a healthy and self-determined life in harmony with their animals in a healthy environment.

SOS Children’s Villages e.V.
Already donated 2 million euros!
Since the launch of Happy Dog Sensible Africa and Mini Africa in May 2009, Happy Dog has been donating 2% of the purchase price of each Africa pack sold (from 1 kg) to SOS Children’s Villages in Africa. Through this great campaign, 2 million euros have already been donated (as of the end of 2020). A big thank you to you as a customer!

Education for Africa
As the extension of the primary school in Rutana/Burundi has already been completed with the support of Happy Dog, we are now ready and able to support the next project: ‘Education for a better future in Africa’. The result of poverty and violence, around 124 million children and young people in Africa are denied school education.
Together with SOS Children’s Villages, we would like to counteract this. In cooperation with education authorities, schools and community organisations, our aim is to provide children with free access to quality education. Because only with a good school education will the path to professional life be open to them. When you purchase Happy Dog Sensible Africa or Mini Africa you are supporting the financing of numerous items:

Operating costs for schooling and vocational training

Procurement of school materials

Salaries of educational staff

and much more
feed a dog
Food donations for dogs in need
We have been supporting the charitable work of feed a dog since 2022 and are proud that together we have already been able to fill over 260,964 bowls.
Animal welfare is very important to us as a pet food manufacturer, which is why we enthusiastically support the feed a dog concept:
Doing good has never been so easy. With the help of the feed a dog app, donating takes just one click. Just 1.50 euros is enough to fill a dog’s bowl. What you need to do:
Install the free feed a dog app on your mobile phone and you’re ready to donate. You decide who you want to support.

Augsburg Zoo
For the humane keeping of animals
In order to keep zoo animals in a way that is as humane possible, a variety of measures are necessary: optimally designed enclosures, individual engagement with the individual animal species and species-appropriate feeding of the animals are just a few examples that modern zoos have to take into account today.
To be able to finance such measures, the zoo requires financial resources from sponsors like Happy Dog.
